Friday, September 11, 6 pm – 8:30 pm: Scrivener 101: From Zero to 60

Get comfortable—get writing. Scrivener writing software: everyone loves it, but what writer has time to learn something new? And most writers already using Scrivener miss out on some of the program’s best elements. This workshop will help you start, literally, at zero, and get up and running right away. Even long-time users will learn to take advantage of features they didn’t know were available.

Saturday, September 12, 8:30 am – 2 pm: Scrivener 102: Customizing Scrivener for the Advanced Writer

Write faster—write smarter. In this workshop, writers already familiar with the basics of Scrivener will discover the many ways Scrivener can be configured for novels and non-fiction projects. Find out how to customize Scrivener to your particular needs and take advantage of little-known elements to make your writing life easier and more streamlined. Learn to plot your book with virtual index cards, how to manage scenes (and your own motivation) with the outliner, and how to fly through revisions with features few Scrivener useres have discovered.

Scrivener 301: Self-Publishing with Scrivener

Save money—save time. Not everyone is aware of one of Scrivener’s most-valued features: the ability to publish easily to multiple platforms. For writers aiming toward indie publishing, Scrivener’s easy-to-learn interface is the tool to get their work into the marketplace. Even if projects require different formatting, illustrations, footnotes, or hyperlinks, Scrivener can handle what writers dish out. Find out the streamlined steps to export a manuscript directly into an epub, Kindle, iBooks, or .pdf format, and take the headaches out of self-publishing.

Debbie Maxwell AllenSpeaker: Debbie Maxwell Allen drank the Scrivener Kool-Aid, and never looked back. When not wowing writers with the wonders of Scrivener, she works as a project manager for Good Catch Publishing and pens young adult historical fantasy in the Rocky Mountains.
